When I work, I always need music going in order to both prep and stay focused. Whether it’s a pre-work dance party with my puppy to get hyped up for the day, or a happy hour playlist before the team gets together, Spotify has me covered.  As we hit the two-year mark of working from home, hitting the play button before working on anything has become a key element of my routine. Music can not only keep me immersed in my project, but it is also scientifically is proven to boost your mood as well! Out of all the music applications I’ve used over the years, I have found that Spotify is the best of the best.

How it works:

Spotify allows for you to save your favorite songs into a single playlist, or break your music into separate playlists. Along with this, there are a ton of pre-made playlists both created by other users, and by Spotify themselves. Whether you’re looking for music based on an activity, mood, or genre, Spotify offers everything you need and more. But Spotify goes above and beyond this. Spotify automatically generates playlists for you based on what you are currently listening to. Spotify also offers podcasts for those who prefer them.

Favorite feature:

My favorite feature is definitely being able to build out playlists. It’s a running joke with my friends that I’m the “Human Version of Spotify” because I make a playlist for every event ever. I have even gone as far to create individual playlists for each of my friends based on their own music taste. It’s a fun feature, and a great way to be able to share your music tastes with others.

Goldie Hawn once said, “Why not just live in the moment, especially if it has a good beat?” With music, I get to both be in the moment, with a good beat. Grateful to be able to live my life with a great soundtrack going.
